  1. Welcome to NetInfo - Version 2.2 (Build 803)

  3. NetInfo is a fully configurable and multithreaded award-winning
  4. program which provides tools for gathering various information
  5. about a computer's current Internet connection. Designed for
  6. non-programmers but sophisticated enough for power users, Netinfo
  7. is built around a highly intuitive graphical user interface which
  8. takes full advantage of Windows' point-and-click capabilities.

  10. NetInfo allows an Internet user to perform the following tasks:

  12. - examine the local host and Winsock data
  13. - ping a remote host over the network
  14. - trace the route to a remote host over the network
  15. - look up a domain name according to its IP address or an IP
  16.   address from its domain name
  17. - finger one or more users at a remote host
  18. - obtain information on names from the Network Information Center
  19. - scan all hostnames under one (class C) IP address
  20. - check host service status

  55. How To Install NetInfo:
  56. -----------------------

  58. - unzip the archive netinfo.zip in a temporary directory
  59. - click on the Start button on the Taskbar
  60. - click on the Start menu's "Run" selection
  61. - enter the path to the unzipped files directory
  62. - type "setup.exe" and click on the "OK" button 
  63. - follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation
  64. - remove the temporary directory and its contents
  65.  
  66. If you are using WinZip open netinfo.zip and select æInstallÆ.

  68. Note: The product serial number is 042-1144954. You must use it
  69. every time you install this software.

  71. How To Upgrade NetInfo:

  74. - unzip the archive upgrade.zip in your NetInfo directory and
  75.   overwrite existing files with files from the archive.

  77. How To Uninstall NetInfo:

  80. - open the control panel
  81. - double click on the æAdd/Remove ProgramsÆ icon
  82. - you will see a list of installed software, select NetInfo on the
  83.   list
  84. - click on the "Add/Remove" button
  85. - follow the on-screen prompts to complete the uninstallation
